For kids in the Lake Havasu Unified School District, the new school year begins on July 30th. That gives you two weeks to get ready for the hustle and bustle of school life, including health exams, shots, vision screenings, etc. Fortunately, most of your needs can be met at the Havasu Back-to-School Health Fair this weekend.

Organizers of this back-to-school extravaganza wanted to make it a one-stop shop sort of event to help parents check off everything on their list. Need immunizations? Check. Dental exams? Check. Vision Screenings? Check. Sports physicals or just a physical in general? Check. Developmental screening? Check. They even have people on-site to give your child a haircut so they look extra special for their first day.

 

Additionally, they also put together some fun activities to keep the kiddos entertained. Get your face painted. Play some games. And after you get everything you need to do completed, don those swimsuits and take a dip in one of the Aquatic Center's pools. Free swim available to the first 400 people from noon to 4 pm.

Golf N Brews (2018 McCulloch Blvd) hosts a special school supply drive next Thursday, July 23rd from 12 pm to 4 pm. They accept pencils, pens, erasers, pencil sharpeners, paper, crayons, and even backpacks. All kinds of school supplies are welcome. Everything collected directly benefits HAVEN Center and the families they serve.

Today is the final day to see a free summer movie at Star Cinemas. Today's selection? "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem".  Get there early and enjoy the show.
