Havasu Life Jacket Exchange 2024
Now, the first day of summer officially falls on June 20th. However, for most people, Memorial Day Weekend signifies the start of summer. Even our local school system scheduled the final day of school on May 23rd. Summer means lots of extra time out on our waterways. Have you checked your water safety equipment lately? Do it now because the Havasu life jacket exchange program takes place this weekend. And you don't want to miss this opportunity to update your equipment before hitting the lake.
What: Havasu Life Jacket Exchange 2024
Where: London Bridge Beach Stage (1340 McCulloch Blvd N)
When: Saturday, May 18th from 10 am to noon
Contact: AZ Game & Fish Depart (623) 236-7258 or via email
Ask yourself these questions. Have you or your loved ones changed sizes since last year? Have the kids grown larger? Have you? (No judgment. It happens to the best of us.) Did you or your loved ones lose weight? Is last year's equipment looking a bit rough around the edges? It might be the perfect time to upgrade.
Our local sheriff's office partnered up with the AZ Department of Game and Fish as well as Anderson Powersports to bring this life jacket exchange event to you. They accept all sizes, shapes, colors, designs, and condition of life jackets. Torn? Fine. Worn out? Fine. Hanging on by a literal thread? Fine! The only life jackets they will not accept are the old orange Type 2 vests. Sorry. Everything else, however, will gladly be exchanged. However, they only exchange life vests while their supplies hold out. So, come early.
Learn more about the boating laws of the lake here before you head out for some summertime water fun. Be safe. Enjoy!

Havasu Life Jacket Exchange 2024
Arizona law requires that every child aged 12 years and under must wear a life jacket while out on the water at all times. Also, each boat must carry a personal flotation device appropriate for the sizes and ages of everyone onboard a water vessel at all times. And believe me. You'll see a lot of our local patrolmen out on the lake throughout the summer.Ask yourself these questions. Have you or your loved ones changed sizes since last year? Have the kids grown larger?
