Hundreds of thousands of acres of undeveloped land surround Lake Havasu City. That makes it a great spot to stargaze. Why? It has no light pollution to interfere. If you love astronomy, you might want to join the upcoming Lake Havasu Star Party.

Lake Havasu Star Party 2025

Cattail Cove provides a wonderful location to go stargazing. Don't worry if you do not own a telescope. The Havasu Astronomy Club provides a variety of telescopes as well as their knowledge of the stars with them. If you need questions answered, they are happy to oblige. They also provide free hot chocolate for the evening. All you need to bring is a good lawn chair for your comfort. And $5 to enter the park itself.

Some of the planets visible on the 17th include Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter. Also, the Corona Borealis should be visible in the eastern part of the sky. The moon will be in its Waning Gibbous phase. That means that over 80% of it will be illuminated in the night sky.

Lake Havasu Movie Night in the Park

Just a quick reminder. The last Movie Night in the Park takes place on Friday, May 23rd. That night, guests get to enjoy the 1985 classic "The Goonies". Bring a chair or blanket for comfort, your family and/or friends for fun, and some snacks to get you through the evening. Get there early to scout for the best spot to set up for the night. Gates open at 6:30 pm. The movie begins at dusk.
