When you were a kid, did you ever make gingerbread houses at Christmastime? Scoops brings this beloved holiday tradition into its shop for the third year with its Havasu Gingerbread House Contest. And they invite the public to join in on the fun.

Whether you are an individual, part of an organization, or have a business, you can participate in this contest. All you need to do is sign up by the end of business today. (Contact Carole at Scoops at the number or email listed above for more info.) Your assembled entry must then be brought in to Scoops by December 12th. Judging takes place on December 19th. The grand prize winner receives $1000. All entries remain on display the entire time. So stop by. Pick up a scoop of ice cream. And see what our talented community put together to celebrate the season.

Kokomo Beach Club hosts its Twelve Days of Christmas every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday between now and December 19th. From 5 pm to 8 pm each night, kids can visit with Santa and let him know what's on their Christmas wish list. He'll also pose for pictures with the little ones. Mrs. Claus helps him out as well. You may even see the Grinch show up! As a back-up (and a reminder for that jolly old elf), kids are welcome to drop off their letters to Santa in the designated mailbox at Kokomo. Live music and food vendors keep everyone entertained and well fed. Plus, a fire pit provides the perfect place to roast marshmallows for s'mores. Kokomo provides this event absolutely free of charge.
